Another benefit
I discovered this morning there is another benefit to going to another grid (where you get God powers)… Constraints are removed. I was able to make a skybox 256×256 (I could have done it 4 regions size, but I chose not to because I need to be able to see where it is in the sky). Picked up a sky panorama and put it on the sides and did a grass texture on the ground.
Then I discovered a “Green mountains Landscape” in my inventory. I can’t remember if I picked it up somewhere or if it was already there. But it is aproximately the same size as the skybox I just made (simple prims > hollow box with a floor > then linked the floor to the box). So having textured the bottom with grass texture and the sides with a sky, I put the mountains down and Voila!
And just for fun, I put down this house that I picked up yesterday (on the island of house builds here in Alt. Meta.) I plan to steampunk texture it since I have some steampunk textures and do-dads I made with AI.
Keeping in mind the house I put down is “right out of the box” all one piece as are most things. There seems to be no constraints here as there are in Secondlife. In Secondlife, you cannot stretch a prim out farther than 64×64. Here, no such problem AND you can link objects > where I have been able to link the skybox floor with the sides such that it is 256×256 and I can probably go even larger… but did not want to. There’s a point at which builds become too large to see what you are doing.
But it is almost 10am and I need breakfast!
