Downgrading in SL, Upgraded in AM
So I decided to move off the rented quarter sim and just have the beach house. After all, I’ve got four whole regions in AM, and don’t really need it and I’m trying to stay out of SL except for occasional. So I’ve moved the alts to skyboxes, except Saf who has her own place on land. Not renting the quarter sim in SL means I will have money to use without having to make linden purchases for the most part. That’s good for my budgeting over the winter.
In AM I am furnishing a lovely castle and I also have a fully furnished home from the demo land they gave me. I plan on making a few skyboxes as well.
I went to Dekute’s store to see their latest offerings. They were my first lower cost animated kitchen sets and I use them with the alts to have different cabinets and counters for each. The oven doors and microwave and fridge doors work and there are dishwashing and cooking animations. Their new ones are even more advanced: the icemaker in the door gives you a glass of water and they have added more poses and scripts to the kitchen. Of course, the price has gone up as well.
Still I have gotten my money’s worth from Dekute – great for alts or rentals.
Then there’s MeshPossible. Again, the texture huds means every user can pick their own texture and color combinations. Yeah, they use poseballs, but they work decent at least.
Oh and I did buy the same hair I use at A.M. today too.
For the alts apartment I am using Anna Erotica’s 3 prim skyboxes. I choose the white walls and tinted them. Using those and the above choices keeps the prim count low so I have room for more stuff in my own place and in theirs. I need to work on some artwork on their walls, but each skybox has two floors and a choice of scenery, walls (wood or white) and floors (carpet, concrete or wood – 1 texture each).
For now I am going to go shopping in AM and see if they sell any skyboxes or if I need to make my own.
