Morning’s Echo

Morning’s echo in the croak of frogs
That seem to lurk nearby
Neeker-breek upon a log
As sunrise starts to fly.

The duties that I have today
Are furthest from my mind
The soothing sound of creatures
Are always warm and kind.

Nature pacifies the soul
In worlds apart from here
Fills the ears and mind and head
And helps the heart see clear.

It’s my daily sojourn walk
As I start the morning off
No need for any common talk
Just the silence soft.

In a life of “things to do”
It’s wonderful to sit
Some moments here, some moments there
A restful little bit.
